Make Every Drop Count

Children of THK Child Development Centre @ Macpherson had incorporated the Project of Make Every Drop Counts in 2017 SSDB movement. They started with a mini performance to spread the spirit of saving water with parents and friends. A mini workshop of making book marks decorated with water saving tips was created by parents and children. All these book marks had been brought back by all our children with the aim of exchange dried food items such as cookies, cereals, Milo etc. for the needy citizen who received daily free meals in Thye Hua Kwan Free Meal Centre at Macpherson. Through this movement, children learnt how to care for the environment by using water wisely and played a part to gather, pack and distribute donation items for the needy. They were HAPPY to contribute their little effort to share the water saving tips to the public as well as family members and at the same time show their concern and care towards the needy.

Children were happily sharing the water saving tips with the public. They walked around the neighbourhood to share the benefits of saving water and distribute the poster to the people around them to use the water wisely. It was a breakthrough experience for them to have converstion with the public confidently.

Parents and children were enthusiastically helping to create and produce the book marks that carried the water saving tips to exchange dried food to danate to the needy in free meal centre.

Children were showing the donation gathered from parents. They learnt how to sort them out to pack them equally into 40 packs for the needy in free meal centre.

A busy packing production line. Though heavy, children expressed their happiness to eagerly helping in packing.

Children were sending their warmth and goodie bags to the needy senior citizens in free meal centre.
