It all began with a reader titled “The River” by Jill Eggleton. Through the story, our children learnt about water pollution and how it affects the animals living in the river. Just like the lady in the book who started a change and stopped people from throwing rubbish into the river, we too brainstormed on some ideas we could do to make a change! We then made it into a checklist and pinned it up in class to constantly remind ourselves to care for the environment.
When you have a tissue and a towel, use the towel instead.” - Kyomie Krist, K2
Our younger ones learnt how to care for plants through fun games, songs and dance!
“We should go plant and then we can sell them. We can sell the food we grow like watermelon and melon.” - Ng Yi Xuan, K2
What better way to care for the environment than to plant! We got together as a school and planted some seedlings in hope to harvest them for a fund-raising as suggested by our children.
Our virtual launch was all our ideas compiled into one video and uploaded on the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) portal to spread awareness.
