Singapore Zoo Learning Journey

K1 children from YWCA Bukit Gombak CDC went to Singapore Zoo to increase their awareness about wild life conservation project. It helped them to discover the animals who are now facing extinction because of some human violations. This learning journey have also taught them about the diet, habitat and characteristics of a certain wild animals.

K1 children were able to discover and explore some facts mainly about wild life animals from Africa. They became aware of the Rhino’s logo that says, “ You buy, They die”. They understand that if people buy products from Rhino and the other wild animals, more wild animals will be killed.

K1’s learning journey at Singapore Zoo have brought them into realization that wild animals have to be taken care of very well. They began to appreciate the importance of wild animals for the future generations and they’ve realized that wild animals shouldn’t be a terror for children. Their next activity will be about having a short role play or game about wild animals and their diets.
