We embarked on the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project (i) to promote service learning and (ii) to create environmental awareness in our children.
The theme of our project is “Save Our Ocean Friends” where children learned about marine lives, animal extinction and sea pollution. They explored how they can play a part in protecting the environment specifically with regards to the ocean. Children had discussion on the impact of sea pollution on the sea creatures. They also explores various sources of the sea pollution.
As part of the project, children visited the S.E.A. Aquarium to get up close to the amazing life of the magical underwater world of ocean. Studies have shown that when children have exposure to nature, they will learn to appreciate nature and be proactive in protecting the environment for the community.
