Art Gallery Walk cum Sharing and Giving @ MFS Woodlands 3

In line with our continued collaboration with the NTUC Eldercare SilverCircle @ Marsiling, our children’s art pieces were put on display for sale outside our centre through an ‘Art Gallery Walk’ on the 30th September 2017. Parents came forth to donate rations (food/household items) for the Eldercare by “buying” their child’s art pieces in exchange. With families’ generosity, we managed to collect a truck full of items which were then brought to the eldercare by the Kindergarten 1 and 2 children, centre teachers and principal.

Concurrently, we held a sharing and giving event, whereby, parents set up stalls/booths on items which were still in good condition that they wished to give away, including small electrical appliances and electronic goods, toys, books, bags and more. Rather than tossing those items into the trash bin, this event provided families a platform to recycle/reuse/reduce waste/unwanted items by giving away to someone else who might have a need for. As advocates for 3Rs and towards ‘zero waste nation’, this event has proven to be a successful one with the support of our centre families. On the whole, we hope that a small action by us ripples its impact onto the community at large.
