K1s and K2s children visited Man Fut Tong Nursing Home to visit and contribute the Milo and biscuits that have been collected during the Upside Down Garden Art Exhibition on 17/08/2018. Prior to the visit, the children have been practising 2 dances which they will perform for the elderly who stay there.
The children are given the chances to interact with the elderly and pass the bags of Milo and biscuits to them. The children learn empathy, self awareness of themselves and others as well as to be compassionate through the visit to the nursing home. They also learn to be more confident and boost their self esteem.
The staff and elderly in the nursing home are friendly and approachable. The children learn to interact with not only different adults in the community but as well as the senior citizens and thus making their learning journey more meaningful.
