In Sunbird, we believe that parents are the best role models for children in character building. During this year’s SSDB, we encouraged parents to help in developing children’s awareness on the importance of preserving Earth’s natural resources.
On 21 July 2017, class activities were conducted outdoor, while our centre conserved electricity and water for an hour. During that hour, children had a fun and meaningful experience cleaning up trash in our neighbourhood park and playgrounds.
Parents were also given a list of activities on Earth Day, to engage in preserving natural resources with their children at home.
Our centre also conducted an SSDB Donation Drive to the Salvation Army from 24 July to 28 July 2017. During this Sunbird Earth Week Event, we welcomed donations of clothing, shoes, bags, toys, accessories that were in ‘still good’ condition from parents and their children.
