Using information books borrowed from the National Library Board (NLB), our children were asked to observe similarities and what they think the books are trying to tell us. Through discussion and facilitation, our children had some really inquisitive thoughts!
“I don’t think I’ve seen this bird (Kakapo) before. I think it’s going to be extinct.” - Demira Sharma, K2
Having discussed some possible reasons of the extinction of the animals, our children did a little research on animals of their choice and shared it with the class by drawing and writing about it.
Did you know that animals are not the only ones in danger? Earth is too! We discovered this when we discussed the impact humans have as they destroy animal habitats by cutting down trees and polluting the environment. So we brainstormed on how we can do our part to help Planet Earth.
“Plant more trees!” - Ng Yi Xuan, K2
“Make posters and put it outside the school.” - Song Ji Hwan, K2
