REACHING OUT @CHLA

On 20th April 2018, the children had a recap on the topic of road safety. They were informed about the various accidents that were happening around us and the causes of it such as reckless driving, speeding, drinkong etc. As a result, the children were asked as to how they would like to reach out to the community to create awareness about road safety. They were many responses from the children such as ‘tell them not to speed’, ‘stop them if it’s not green man’, ‘call the policeman’ etc. We intervene from there and prompted the children with questions as to how can we reach out and inform the community of abiding road rules such as ‘use the traffic light’. Through the guidance and facilitation of teachers, the children suggested ideas such as ‘campaign’,’creating posters’ etc. The children were shown some samples of road safety posters and were also introduced to phrases such as ‘alert today;alive tomorrow’, ‘don’t drink and drive but think and drive’ etc. They were then provided the various art materials to create the posters individually.
