On 11th and 18th July we continued with our SSDB Project by visiting our community partner - AWWA. After weeks of planning our Champs made a trip down to visit the residents at the AWWA Dementia Day Care Centre.
Our Champs participated in the morning exercise with the residents during our first visit on 11th July.
In between exercises Champs also sang songs to serenade and bring good cheer to the residents.
After the visit Champs were gathered in class to share about their thoughts and feelings on what they had experienced.
During our second visit on 18th july, our Champs went down to AWWA to do a gourmet activity with the residents. As part of their endeavour in being healthy living ambassadors, they taught the residents how to make a rainbow rice bowl.
Our Champs spent time interacting with the residents while assisting in the gourmet activity at the same time. Champs had a wonderful experience getting to know the residents better. At the same time the residents were delighted to see our Champs and were filled with warmth from the interactions.
We would like to say thank you to AWWA for making this collaboration a successful and meaninful one for our Champs at MindChamps Upper Thomson.
