Good Shepherd Convent Kindergarten - NKF B.L.E.S.S Project Day3 (20th March 2018)

On the 20th March 2018, half of the class-red and green groups went to visit the kidney patients at Tampines Dialysis Centre. The children brought with them the pandan cake baked by our teacher Mrs Ho.

The medical social worker briefed the children on the five centre rules. After the briefing, the children were brought to the waiting room and have their hands sanitized before entering to see the kidney patients. The children performed an English song entitled “Friend” and also a Chinese song. They were singing with gusto and the patients were delighted.

After the song performance the children also presented the patient with a pandan cake and a heart- shaped lollipop craft with the message written on it “Be Happy”. The kidney patients were very touched by the children kind gestures and were beaming with joy.

Time flies and it was time for the children, parent volunteers and teachers to depart from TDC. The children showed compassion through their little gestures towards the kidney patients. This was one of the many visits that the children will continue to bond with the patients to do their little part to care and share for the chronically ill patients.
